The Victorian home where Nobel Prize winning author, Ernest Hemingway was born in 1899 is mere blocks away from The Write Inn’s doorsteps.  Coupled with The Hemingway Museum across the street from the hotel, visitors can explore displays of rare photographs of Hemingway, his childhood diary, letters, early writings and other memorabilia.  Guests can also enjoy videos documenting the author’s life and work.

The Birthplace and Childhood Home and the Museum are open for visitors from  Sun-Fri 1pm - 5pm; Sat 10am - 5pm. Tours offered on the hour. Admission (includes Hemingway Museum & Birthplace tour): $8 adult / $6 youth (18 and under) or senior (65+). Children 5 and under free.
